I Won’t Complain

Complain – (verb) the expression of dissatisfaction.
Everyone is going through something in one way or another. The enemy’s goal is to give us no rest. The enemy’s goal is to disturb us, distract us, drain us, and separate us from Jehovah. When we are faced with life’s rocky roads…one blow after another–It is disturbing. I say all the time–“This is hell right here (this life we’re living).” If you ever need clarity “what is hell”? You’re living in it. Take a look around. Life is unpredictable. Let’s not forget who’s here…Who’s the ruler of this system (1 John 5:19). When Satan was hurled down to the earth, The Bible stated–“Whoa to the earth!” (Revelation 12:12)
There are hardships…Everybody is going through something (in one way or another). It isn’t easy. Noone isn’t exempt from these hardships. We all can complain. Somebody’s sick…somebody’s depressed…somebody’s homeless…somebody’s hungry–Hardships. Even the rich are battling something. There are many things riches cannot resolve. We are travelers in a hot, arid land. How many of you become weak and worn due to your struggles? How many of you have ever felt it would be easier to just stop caring? If you could press a button to numb your feelings, would you?
Dear brothers and sisters keep your focus on the hills (Psalm 121:1-2). Sure we can complain, but what relief does it bring? Have you ever been complaining about something and found it’s draining? It’s okay to express our dissatisfaction sometimes, but when it becomes a habit–It’s oppressing. Jehovah invites us to leave our burdens with Him (Psalm 55:22). He desires to know what you’re feeling. Come before Him expressing gratitude and asking for mercy. Just as much as I can complain, I think about how Jehovah has walked with me through the rain. I thank Him for His grace and mercy. Life is hard…We can choose to complain or we can use our energy wisely–Draw closer to Jehovah. Circumstances has separated people, who thought they were deep in their faith, from Jehovah. When cloudy skies doesn’t seem to pass as soon as we’d like them to, some people feel why should they continue looking to the hills? Why should they continue to pray? They allow Satan to influence them that their faith is just a fantasy. Suffering isn’t no easy pill to swallow and in one’s time of vulnerability–Satan takes advantage. Do not allow Satan to separate you from your only hope.
Do not allow your circumstances to separate you from Jehovah. You may be frustrated, down-spirited…When you don’t know what else to do, just say: “Father, Jehovah, I’m depending on you.” When you desire to cast Jehovah off during your bouts of frustration–Fight it! Say: “Father, have mercy on me.” When you don’t know what else to say…you’ve prayed and prayed and things still look bleak, just say: “Dear, Father, I’m waiting on you. I know you know what I need. I need you. Please and thank you.” Do not allow Satan to remove your hand from God’s.
Philippians 2:14 tells us to do without grumbling. Why does it advise us to do that? Complaining will rob us of zeal. Yes, we are human and it helps to get some things off our chest. Most times, complaining doesn’t make us feel any better. Most times it lapse over into a cycle, right? Life is complicated (there’s no doubt about that). There’s somebody out there who has had a major weight dropped upon them: Receiving an unfavorable diagnosis, losing a child, losing a parent (even worse–both parents)…There’s somebody out there who has received an eviction notice (and they have no where to go)…To these people what I am saying may have no sustenance to it. They may feel they’re too far down to get back up. When someone tells you you have this or that and you have to go through these lengthy treatments or be placed on the transplant list…These circumstances blinds us…It’s not easy, but keep praying anyway. What else do you have that will provide you comfort? What else do you have that can provide you joy? What else do you have that can bring you peace? It may not seem to make sense, because when you’re down and out you’re zapped. Keep your eyes upon those hills.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells us to give thanks no matter the circumstance. Thank Jehovah for the “good times” in your life. Continue to thank Him for being there. I have been traveling through some valleys, over the river, and through the woods, but I thank Jehovah for things being as well as they are. My calendar is filled with unfavorable consultations, but I pray for strength to attend those consultations. Dread can consume so much of your energy. To me, complaining consumes even more. Replace complaining with prayer. Replace complaining with the word of God. Replace complaining with brightening someone else’s day.
A physician spoke over a patient and her words were: “No matter how she felt, when I would ask her how she’s doing, she would reply: “I’m ok.” When people ask me: “How are you?” I reply: “I’m making it.” What does that mean: I’m not feeling how I would like to feel, but thank God things are as well as they are. I roll with the punches–I couldn’t roll without God. I squeeze lemons–I wouldn’t be able to without God. I cry…I smile…I laugh–I couldn’t without God. I am confident Jehovah doesn’t leave us (Deuteronomy 31:8).
Keep fighting the good fight. It’s not easy, but trust Jehovah will provide.
Stay Blessed
